Nik Doyle

Nik Doyle (3rd dan Aikikai) began Aikido at Sussex University in 1981 under Kanetsuka Minoru Shihan (7th dan) achieving shodan at the 1986 BAF Summer School. Greatly impressed by Yamaguchi Seigo Shihan (9th dan) in 1987, Nik began to train regularly in France with Pascal Durchon Sensei (5th dan) under the direction of Christian Tissier Shihan (7th dan) who promoted him sandan in 2007. Apart from Tissier and Kanetsuka Shihan, Nik has trained with many other Shihan over the years including Yamaguchi, Chiba, Endo, Yamada, Tamura and Yasuno.

Phil Rozier

Phil Rozier (3rd dan Aikikai) began practicing Aikido in 1998 whilst studying for his degree at Sussex University. With tuition from Mark Hale and Jeff Balmer, Phil also traveled to France to train under Pascal Durchon Sensei and Christian Tissier Shihan. Phil was awarded 1st Dan Aikikai in the summer of 2002 and became a qualified instructor under the British Aikido Board. Phil’s main influences stem from the instruction recieved from Tissier Shihan and Pascal Durchon Sensei but he also attends the annual Paris seminars given by Yasuno Shihan and Endo Shihan. In early 2003 Phil spent time in Japan practising intensely at Aikikai Hombo Dojo in Tokyo. More recently Phil has extended his practice to that of Inaba Sensei and Kashima Shin Ryu Kenjitsu attending summer schools in Poland, Wales and France.
